The cruise to Oxford, MD is one of the longer cruises that the club organizes. With good wind, the crew arrives in the early evening with just enough time to secure the boat and head out to dinner. Oxford is tiny tree-lined, water bound village with a population of less than 700. (Yes, that's a seven with two zeros.) Established in 1683, it is one of the oldest towns in Maryland and has rich maritime history. Today, you will still find local watermen at the town dock unloading the catch of the day. The route to Oxford from DC and Annapolis via car is a couple hours beyond the range of a day trip, so unlike many other waterfront towns, you'll find no flashy waterfront condos or glitzy bar scene. Tourism in Oxford focuses on quiet relaxation and leisure, which is just fine for us. We depart Muller Marine in Eastport Saturday morning and return Sunday evening.
